The Leland Brake brand's heritage dates
back to 1943. Originally under private ownership, the product
line was acquired by Maremont Corporation in the late 1950's
and continued operation until purchased by T&N Industries
of Manchester, UK in 1977.
Once acquired by T&N, Leland became
one of the brands sold in the USA under the Nuturn Corporation
entity. The TMR Spring Brake product line originated in
Southgate, CA and was acquired by Nuturn Corporation in 1985.
The Nuturn Corporation changed its name to Ferrodo America in
the years following.
Triangle Suspension Systems purchased the
Leland Brake & TMR Spring Brake brands from Ferrodo
America in December, 1997 and moved to DuBois, PA in 2001. The
brake product was offered as a product to the spring and
suspension market.
In 2006, Triangle segmented the brand into
an independent division; Leland Brake & Wheel Parts. This
business will focus on the brake foundation parts, attaching
wheel end parts, and spring brakes for the Medium and Heavy
Duty trucking market.
